Encaustic Collage

Encaustic Collages are made by gluing papers on to wood panels then applying a thin layer of encaustic medium (a mixture of beeswax and demar resin). Once the medium has cooled it can be incised with hot metal objects to make a scare where color can be applied, ephemera such as keys, foil, organza fabric and more can then be pressed into surface, which is reheated to embed the object.
