VIRTUAL: Stamp & Stitch

March 9, 2021
4:00 pm
- 6:00 pm

In this fun workshop, you will learn how to carve two rubber stamps and then you will use them to create your own, unique, hand printed fabric. Artist Lisa Thorpe will share how to design a focal point block and a repeat pattern block. She will demonstrate her favorite techniques and tricks to designing and carving a rubber stamp that you can use again and again for both fiber and paper arts. Once you have printed on fabric with your stamps, you’ll get to embellish them with hand stitching to make your designs pop! Don’t worry if you don’t have a lot of stitching experience, your stitches can be as simple or as complicated as you want. Lisa will share a myriad of ways she has used her hand carved stamps in art quilting, mixed media art, and clothing embellishment.

*Students must enroll by February 28th to receive Supply Kits.
