Virtual Workshop: Stamp & Stitch for Diablo Valley Quilters

In this fun workshop, you will learn how to carve rubber stamps and use them to create your own, unique, hand printed fabric. Artist Lisa Thorpe will share how to design a focal point block and a repeat pattern blocks. She will demonstrate her favorite techniques and tricks to designing and carving a rubber stamp that you can use again and again for both fiber and paper arts.

Once you have printed on fabric with your stamps, Lisa will share how to embellish them with hand stitching to make your designs pop and show techniques for making a special printed fabric Valentine! Don’t worry if you don’t have a lot of stitching experience, your stitches can be as simple or as complicated as you want.  Lisa will share a myriad of ways she has used her hand carved stamps in art quilting, mixed media art, and clothing embellishment.
