Arkansas River Lapping

Arkansas River Lapping and Winter Dried Seed Pods

This is a series of multi-sensory art pieces. Each box represents an ordinary everyday encounter with extraordinary beauty, curiosity, and delight. This box has a sound recording of the Arkansas River lapping gently on the sandy shore. The 9x6x6″ box is painted and topped with a fabric collage pillow that is densely embroidered. Inside the box is a wonderfully ordinary object, in this you’ll find varnished winter dried seed pods collected along the Arkansas Riverbank. The box has 4 legs of hand forged steel by my husband and blacksmith Jack Dowling.
