Bird Songs & Winter Dried Hydrangeas
This is a series of multi-sensory art pieces. Each box represents an ordinary everyday encounter with extraordinary beauty, curiosity, and delight. This box has a sound recording of the birds singing in my neighborhood. The 7x4x7″ box is painted and topped with a fabric collage pillow that is densely embroidered. Inside the box is a wonderfully ordinary object, in this you’ll find varnished winter dried hydrangea flowers collected from an neighbors yard on a winter morning. The box has 4 legs of hand forged steel by my husband and blacksmith Jack Dowling.
