Rain on a Tin Roof

Rain on a Tin Roof & Brown Thrasher Feathers

This is a series of multi-sensory art pieces. Each box represents an ordinary everyday encounter with extraordinary beauty, curiosity, and delight. This box has a sound recording of the rain of our tin roof. The 8x8x7″ box is painted and topped with a fabric collage pillow that is densely embroidered. Inside the box is a wonderfully ordinary object, these are the feathers of a beautiful Brown Thrasher that died after crashing into our living-room window. The box has 4 legs of hand forged steel by my husband and blacksmith Jack Dowling.
