The equal acceptance of light and dark, sun and shadows. When I was looking on the Internet at scientific explanations of the equinox there were several renderings of the earth in its relationship to the sun. As I pondered the pictures I realized that the autumn and spring Equinox mark the two days out of 365 in which every person on the planet experiences the same light and dark! Wherever you are on earth today it is the equinox and wherever you are on earth today the sunrises at approximately the same time for everyone on the planet as well as the sunset. Northern and Southern hemispheres experience the same amount of darkness and light. Wow! What if we could somehow take a pause (and when I say we I mean all the people of our little planet, earth) and realize we are living this together. The Equinox is not about politics or religion or tribes or class, it is a physical fact for all beings on this planet, we all have these two days in common! It’s a start, pass it on, maybe we can get the word out; we’re all in this together. Wow, September just got a whole lot more interesting.

This painting an others from the blog are for sale, follow the link to see http://lisathorpe.com/mandala.html

Today is the Autumnal Equinox. I did a little research into what that means, so here it is: an equinox happens each year at two specific moments in time (rather than two whole days), when there is a location on […]

"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paywalled_content":false
_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false
[37,88
162,163,674,680
post-1283","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-art","category-inspiration","tag-autumn","tag-autumnal-equinox","tag-september","tag-shadows

Happy Equinox!
