Artist Lisa Thorpe will share how to design a focal point block and a repeat pattern blocks. She will demonstrate her favorite techniques and tricks to designing and carving a rubber stamp that you can use again and again for both fiber and paper arts.<\/p>\n<p>Once you have printed on fabric with your stamps, Lisa will share how to embellish them with hand stitching to make your designs pop and show techniques for making a special printed fabric Valentine! Don\u2019t worry if you don\u2019t have a lot of stitching experience, your stitches can be as simple or as complicated as you want. Lisa will share a myriad of ways she has used her hand carved stamps in art quilting, mixed media art, and clothing embellishment.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-3646\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/lisathorpe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/Whats-in-a-kit-Horizontal-1-300x231.jpg?resize=300%2C231&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"231\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In this workshop, you will learn how to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Design, transfer and cut out a rubber stamp block<\/li>\n<li>Print on fabric with your rubber stamp<\/li>\n<li>Create a unique, printed fabric Valentine embellished with hand stitching<strong>Skill level: \u2702\ufe0f<\/strong>This class is open to all levels 12 years and up<br \/>\n<strong>Supplies:<\/strong>A complete class kit will be mailed to you for this workshop.* Your kit includes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>3 blank soft rubber blocks in 3 sizes and shapes<\/li>\n<li>carving tool<\/li>\n<li>permanent ink pad<\/li>\n<li>12&#215;12 square of white linen<\/li>\n<li>Skein red embroidery thread<\/li>\n<li>embroidery needle<\/li>\n<li>printed instructions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>*All kits will be mailed to participants.
