Class will begin by colorizing fruit and veg block prints with fabric dye pastels provided in your kit. Then let the stitch begin! Lisa will teach a stitch technique that borrows from the traditional Japanese styles of boro patches and sashiko stitch and sprinkles in a bit of grandma\u2019s crazy quilting too. You get to choose if you want colorful patches look, a solid color background so the stitches shine or some of both! Your finished blocks can be framed or finished individually or stitch together in any combination to create a larger art quilt. Lisa will show you lots of examples and share finishing ideas and techniques too.<\/p>\n<p>Your kit includes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>6 -fruit\/veg block prints with 12 words on white cotton<\/li>\n<li>6- 9&#215;12\u201d rectangles of muslin with Misty fuse applied<\/li>\n<li>1 \u2013 ball of white pearl cotton thread size 8<\/li>\n<li>1 \u2013 chenille needle size #24<\/li>\n<li>Set of 15 pentel fabric dye sticks<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To complete your 6 kitchen garden art quilt blocks you need:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>6 \u2013 9&#215;12 pieces of cotton color of your choice or enough small scraps of fabric to cover six 9&#215;12 rectangles with patches of print or solid cotton fabric.<\/li>\n<li>iron and pad or board to iron on<\/li>\n<li>pins and or glue stick.<\/li>\n<li>scissors or rotary cutter (pinking shears are nice but not required)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>\u2022 Optional:<\/em> disappearing fabric marker such as Pilot FriXion or Fabric Chalk such as Dritz Quilting Chalk Cartridge set is good if you want to mark precise stitch lines \u2013 you can also stitch freehand with no marking (I do both)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kitchen Garden Quilt is an exploration of fabric coloration and stitch to create a personal unique art quilt with a tasty theme.
