February Leaps Into March
I offer you my February painting two days into March. This year February, though one day longer than usual, just wasn’t quite long enough to get every thing done on my to-do list. And while I didn’t complete all my goals somehow I’m happy to see the backside of February. February with it’s awkward spelling and rolling pronunciation is always a hard month for me. Here in the beautiful Russian River Valley that surrounds The Bishop’s Ranch, signs of spring come early. Even with the white and yellow of early blooms, February, has a cold, short light, that leaves me short tempered and brooding in a puddle of wintery miasma. But March is here with a bold sharp name and the promise of an action plan. MARCH it says, and so I gladly do (as if I have a choice) into longer days and longer light, with a lighter heart and warm, willing wit, ready for the pinks and purples and reds just waiting on the tips of branches and pushing against the tender surface of the soil for the marching orders of spring.
The much promised Valentines piece “El Corazon” is now available on the website with a handy buy now button for those of you who enquired earlier, and “February” is there for you to peruse as well http://lisathorpe.com/mandala.html

Every thing came together for this one, the rows of yellow mustard and the busy red-winged blackbirds, conspired to create a beautiful February day. Thanks for you comment it means a lot coming from a sister artist1
