From Photos to Fabric by the Yard: design in the palm of your hand

In this step by step playshop you will learn how to manipulate photos from your phone into a repeat pattern fabric that you can have printed on a variety of fabrics, from basic quilting cotton to knits and seersucker to use in sewing one of a kind garments, housewares and quilts. I will walk you though two image manipulation apps and one layout app needed to create a repeat pattern. After you have created your pattern I will guide you through creating a Spoonflower account, uploading your design and ordering your fabric.

I will project the apps on a large screen while you play along. I’ll be there to hold you hand every step of the way! I work with apple devices and those apps are my preference but Android options available see list below for both Apple and Android users.

Take 4-9 photos of something you love up close. Flowers are a great start, but leaves or texture pattern can be fun too.
